This picturesque cycle takes you through the villages of Ladykirk and Whitsome before returning to Paxton via Broomdykes and Hutton. It is 16.8 miles and will take about 1hr 25 mins.
1. Leave Paxton on the B6461 in the direction of Kelso. Proceed along this road leaving Paxton House behind you on the left. Eventually you will pass Winfield Farm on the right. Just past the farm turn left towards Horndean and Ladykirk. Continue on this road through the picturesque hamlet of Horndean and up the hill towards Laykirk. On the left are wonderful distance views of Norham Castle and the Cheviot Hills.

(NOTE. If you turn left at the bottom of the hill this will take you downhill to the beatuful and peaceful Blueststone Ford across the Whiteadder Water).
5. The road bends to the right before approaching a junction. Turn left and start heading back towards Paxton. Continue along this road, passing Clarabad Farm before eventually travelling downhill to arrive back in Paxton Village.
