Whiteadder Water

Whiteadder Water

The Whiteadder Water rises on the low hillside of Clint Dod in the Lammermuir Hills in East Lothian. After crossing into the Scottish Borders it is joined by the Dye Water and Monynut Water near Abbey St Bathans flowing under Preston Bridge and Blanerne, through Chirnside and on to Allanton, where it is joined by the Blackadder Water. At Allanton the river flows under the Allanton Bridge and slowly winds its way through the countryside, over the Bluestone Ford and passing close to Paxton before crossing into Northumberland and joining the River Tweed just outside Berwick-Upon-Tweed.
