About Me

Having spent most of my life living and working in the South of England I now live in the the beautiful and peaceful Scottish Borders with my husband and two black and white cats. We live in a village close to the Northumberland border and spend many happy hours cycling or visiting places of interest within the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland.

Having travelled extensively throughout the world and always enjoyed history and the countryside, I feel that it is now time for a quieter life, but no less fulfilling.

The places I have written about are those that we have visited and enjoyed, the photographs are all ones we have taken ourselves. These are intended to give an idea of where to visit.

Further information can be obtained from other more informative websites. I have also included some  of our most popular cycling routes around our local area. If you visit Paxton with your bikes this may be of interest to you. I hope you enjoy this blog as much as we enjoy living in this beautiful part of Great Britain.

  1. Great photos, and love that you've included the history about the places, it is appreaciated. I would like to include a photo that you've taken in an accessibilty research paper for a client wishing to improve accessibility at a heritage facility. It is of Hampton Court Palace, and shows the courtyard and an area where cobblestones have been replaced with more modern pavers to create a smoother more accessible route. I'd to properly acknowledge the photo.
    Thank you
