South Downs

The South Downs Near Wilmington

The beautiful South Downs are a range of chalk hills extending from Hampshire to Beachy Head in East Sussex forming part of the South Downs National Park. The rolling chalk downland and valleys, dotted with sheep contain many historical features and archeological remains. The Downs are littered with footpaths and bridleways and the South Downs Way, running from Winchester to Eastbourne is popular with walkers and hikers. The Downs are littered with picturesque villages and hamlets alongside breathtaking coastal views.
