Chirnside Bridge |
Chirnside Bridge is a disused railway viaduct crossing the Whiteadder Water at the small settlement of Chirnesidebridge just outside Chirnside. The round arched cream coloured sandstone bridge was completed in 1849 and carried the Duns branch of the Berwickshire across the river. Sidings served the adjacent Paper Mill.
The bridge is easily visible from the A6105 between Chirnside and Duns from the new road bridge as it crosses the Whiteadder Water.
