Longformacus To The Watch Water Reservoir

This pleasant walk from Longformacus to The Watch Water Reservoir is about 2.5 miles and will take from 50 minutes to 1hr. The walk will take you along a small road beside the wooded banks of the Dye Water before climbing the hills and reaching the reservoir.

1. From the market town of Duns follow the road to Longformacus via the golf course. Park along the roadside in the village and start the walk on the Southern Upland Way beside the river.

2. Proceed along this small road, along the banks of the babbling Dye Water, passing a playing field on the right. After crossing a bridge the road leaves the river behind, passing through some woodland before recrossing the river over a stone bridge and starting to gently climb uphill.
