Royal Border Bridge

The Royal Border Bridge was built between 1847 and 1850. It is a railway viaduct spanning the River Tweed at Berwick-Upon-Tweed. The bridge which stands 121feet above the river is 2,162 feet long and consists of 28 arches. It was designed by Robert Stephenson and opened by Queen Victoria.
The railway which runs between London and the east coast of Scotland was electrified in 1989. This magnificent bridge dominates the skyline and will create a lasting impression.
